Lip Augmentation
Dr. JP Farkas:

One of the most common non-invasive injection procedures we perform here at Farcus Plastic Surgery is lip augmentation with hyaluronic acid fillers. The lip thins over time. Some patients may be born with thin lips. Some may realize that their lips are atrophying over time. By recontouring the lip with hyaluronic acid filler, which lasts around six or nine months, we can increase the pout of your lip, strengthen your Cupid's bow peak, which are the two peaks here at the top of your lip, and also give you a nice aesthetic balance to your upper and lower lip.

The goal of the operation is not to make you look like a fish or like a gorilla. The goal is to actually make sure and enhance a natural lip contour, which is very, very important because in this day and age, it seems that a lot of times with these selfies and Instagram models that we have is that they're very, very full lips.

That natural lip is very important to make sure that you've maintained proportions to where your upper lip is, a millimeter or two smaller than your lower lip to give you a natural appearance. Hope to see you here at Farkas Plastic Surgery. We can talk more about your lip augmentation procedure.
Lip Augmentation is an excellent option to provide a fuller pout to your upper and lower lip. Over time the soft tissue in your lips will atrophy or decrease leaving a thinner upper and lower lip that can be bothersome. Thinner lips are a sign of aging and can be easily enhanced with a simple in office lip augmentation procedure. Dr. Farkas uses soft, non-permanent, malleable hyaluronic acid fillers to provide that fullness that you desire. Based on your underlying anatomy and his expertise, Dr. Farkas is able to diagnose and discuss the best treatment plan for you. If you are unhappy with the change, the filler is completely reversible with injection of hyaluronidase. There is no recovery or downtime and results will last for 7-9 months. Bruising and swelling may occur and generally resolves in 3-5 days.

If you are interested in a more permanent solution you may inquire about the Permalip silicone implant which can be performed in the office under local anesthesia. Dr. Farkas will address all your questions and concerns at the time of your consultation.
